My father once called to tell me (in too much detail) about the remarkable way his doctor was able to remove his hemorrhoids using tiny elastic bands. He claimed that this slow but sure procedure was not only amazing, but elegant even.
Some fractured Freudian flutter in my brain thinks that somehow this story applies here.
