Defence mechanisms
This was inspired by Jacobs' visualisation of how our defence mechanisms interrelate (Jacobs 1988:82)
For further explanations, follow the links below:
regression, idealisation, splitting, turning against the self, introjection, projection, displacement, rationalisation, intellectualisation, isolation, asceticism, reaction formation, undoing, fixation
And here's a handy all-in one list to print up and put on your fridge door.

Thriller?
Your version could be from one of those puzzle books which keep children busy for hours; it must have taken a while to draw.
I seem to fit every category
I think these defence mechanisms are prevalent in all of us. Just to what extent, I suppose. And also to what extent they get in the way of us authentically engaging with our lives.
I'm getting to the point where I can now spurt this kind of psycho-mumbo-jumbo at the drop of the proverbial hat.
Displacement – I love this dog more than life itself...
Genius.
