Will I have my smell and my pain when, destroyed, I go on sleeping?

Enough to make anyone of rational mind swiftly seek an alternate career path, I'd imagine.

There's a lot invested in the 'smell' and the 'pain' and I wonder if the therapeutic process feels like the risk of losing all you imagine yourself to be. Of course it does. One of the most usual excuses is the 'fear of losing my talent'. I usually interpret this as a fear of having any talent at all. Those who create from depth, however, are always ready to open new doors.

Great bit of therapising, therapist, but I'll let you into a little secret. Most of my titles are found by opening up whatever book of verse happens to be lying close to hand and taking something from the page that sounds resonant.

I'm sure you'll probably argue that there is no such thing as a randomly-selected title and that even the act of choosing something on a page is a signifier of sorts.

I would say two things to that: 1) yes 2) sometimes a cigar is only a cigar.

Regards to you too, matey.

Well, my dear Prozac, you have made a good case for the provisionality of all things so may I suggest you go forth and take the world as you are bound to find it. But try smoking that cigar this time. However, at times such as these, it is sometimes better to let the ancients speak for us. Cras amet qui mumquam amavit quique amavit cras amet.
