Morrissey:" ... [W]ith the issue of immigration, it's very difficult because although I don't have anything against people from other countries, the higher the influx into England the more the British identity disappears. If you travel to Germany, it's still absolutely Germany. If you travel to Sweden, it still has a Swedish identity. But travel to England and you have no idea where you are... If you walk through Knightsbridge you'll hear every accent apart from an English accent."

It's ok to be standing in a pile of shit as long as you aren't at the bottom of the pile?

For some reason that makes me want to laugh, alot.

No. It's OK to be standing a pile of shit when you've got company.

As for Morrissey. Well, he's absolutely fucking right, isn't he? England for the English, and maybe just occasionally for particularly talent immigrants like myself.

I've never believed he was racist in the way that the tabloids would want him to be. He just doesn't 'get' multi-culturalism, and I don't have a problem with that. I wouldn't want a multi-cultural Morrissey. His genius resides in his Englishness. Morrissey is as English as the Quentin Crisp,Noel Coward and Oscar Wilde. And for that I salute him.
