D stands for...

disappointed

"The essence of repression lies simply in turning something away, and keeping it at a distance, from the conscious." (Freud, Vol 11, p147)

I know what the iconography suggests, but I have come to realise recently that the little fellow with the vacant eyes is not a death pill. Or not just a death pill. Rather it stands not just for the ultimate cessation of Self, but all the preceding eradications of hope and potential for joy along the way, the cancellation of every appointment we make with/for our own happiness. Disappointment in other words.

Which makes me think of this song.

And a slightly more upbeat take on the theme if you're just about to jump from a balcony.

One of the joys of free-file-sharing sites, Ms Frute is that they ply you with consumer goods before you can actually download the file you want.

Somewhere on the page there will be a sign that reads 'skip the ad'.

I'd suggest that this might be what you're looking for (the ability to skip).

If this were IT-class, Fern would clearly be leading you in the grades-stake.

Bet Frute has a MAC (like moi). I got great music which completely contrasted with the ad for Watermelon scented foot lotion and instructions on how to attract the opposite sex with my soft, watermelony feet. What a concept.

The little fellow with the vacant eyes looks lonely in that last section. I kinda feel sorry for him.

All my charactes are fundamentally (i.e. existentially) lonely.

Ah, why is the grim reaper grim? For that matter, maybe if you actually sat down with him for tea, you might find he's a pretty funny fellow with lots of stories to share. I just had a vision of the GR chuckling a bit and saying "wow, lighten up there P...." tee hee hee heee heeee. We all know I'm easily amused.

As a teacher, my life is grades.

Or maybe, should I see: I see life as grades therefore I became a teacher.

Chicken, egg?

I bet there's people new to P'ville reading that, going: "If this fucker is teaching our kids, we're doomed."

Relax: University teacher.

Or even: should I say.

I think it was Fish egg dinosaur egg chicken egg.

I want to be reincarnated as an egg so I could be made into a cake.

If I had children I would let you teach them.

No Frute - no naked bits - pity that. And a reluctant MAC user, it's taking me forever to get PC moves out of my head.

Grades? I'm with Fern. Pshaw. Humbug. Bullshit. Went to a college with no grades. Think grades stink and should be outlawed. Give everyone a" B" Mr. P - what the hell - they came to class didn't they?

why even a "B"...?

how about just a cup of tea?
